The leader of Sicilian mafia Salvatore Lo Piccolo has been arrested several days ago near to Palermo. Among his things withdrawn by police, the most interesting document has been found out: the list of 10 rules of behavior of a real Mafiosi, including the interdiction on adultery and call to say only the truth. The leaf of a paper with the typewritten text entitled “Rights and responsibilities”, has been found in a brown leather portfolio, belonged to Salvatore Lo Piccolo.
So, “real Mafiosi’s” commandments say:
1) participants of friendly clans should not get acquainted directly, and only on representation of the third party;
2) to not admire at friends’ wives;
3) to not communicate with policemen;
4) to not visit clubs and bars;
5) always be ready to go on Cosa Nostra tasks – even if your wife just about will give birth;
6) to not be late for the appointed meetings and to not pass them;
7) to respect own wives;
to answer truthfully;
9) to not appropriate the money belonging other people or families;
10) a member of Cosa nostra cannot become a person who has relatives among policemen, who fools around, unworthy behaves and has no moral foundations.
For a Mafiosi the whole world splits on two parts: friends and foes. And if laws “for friends” completely correspond to Christian norms of behavior “foes’” for the Mafiosi – no more than means of enrichment and any “commandments” do not extend for them.
